Melanocortin

What is Melanocortin?

The melanocortin system comprises five receptors (MC1R–MC5R) activated by peptides derived from POMC. MC1R regulates pigmentation (melanotan analogs), MC4R regulates sexual function and appetite (PT-141, setmelanotide).
