GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1)
Incretin hormone regulating glucose and appetite.
What is GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1)?
GLP-1 is an incretin hormone released from gut L-cells after eating. It enhances insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon, slows gastric emptying, and reduces appetite. GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, liraglutide) are central to modern weight management and type 2 diabetes therapy.
