Bacteriostatic Water

Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol used to reconstitute peptides.

What is Bacteriostatic Water?

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It is the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides because benzyl alcohol inhibits microbial growth, allowing the vial to be used over multiple days.
