Exenatide (Byetta / Bydureon) is a glp-1 agonist · metabolic peptide studied for type 2 diabetes and weight management (off-label). Synthetic version of exendin-4 (originally from Gila monster saliva). Activates GLP-1 receptors to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppress glucagon, slow gastric emptying, and increase satiety.
