GHRP-6
Ghrelin-mimetic GH secretagogue researched for appetite and recovery.
Mechanism of Action
A hexapeptide ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist that stimulates pituitary GH release and increases appetite via central ghrelin pathways. One of the earliest GH-releasing peptides studied.
Research Areas
Common Research Protocols
Subcutaneous administration before meals in appetite-focused studies.
Protocols summarized for educational reference from published research. Not dosing guidance.
Cited Research
GHRP-6 and the ghrelin receptor: cardiometabolic effects
Review of GH-independent cardioprotective signaling observed in animal models.
Important Considerations
- •Increases appetite and may elevate cortisol/prolactin more than newer secretagogues.
- •Not FDA-approved; banned by WADA.
