What is Telavancin (Vibativ)?

Telavancin (Vibativ) is a lipoglycopeptide · antibiotic peptide studied for complicated skin and skin structure infections and hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia caused by s. aureus. Semisynthetic vancomycin derivative with a lipophilic side chain that inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis and depolarizes the bacterial cell membrane, active against MRSA and other Gram-positives.
